Valentine’s Date Night Ideas for a Pandemic World

Holidays are a wonderful excuse to break routine and shatter expectations. Whatever your wavelength, consider spicing up your special night with these unique date ideas. Love is in the air. Go out on a limb and do something unexpected.

Wine & Paint

How about some beginners acrylic painting? Head on over to your favorite local craft/art supply store, look for a beginners acrylic painting kit and some small canvases. If you need some more guidance on what to buy or watch check out Ahmad Art on Youtube. They have easy videos on how to paint northern lights landscapes and supply lists with every video. With this idea you and your partner can just have a relaxing lovely night in, get creative and let the fun ensue.

Intimate Game Night

Instead of your usual rounds of Uno,  spice it up with something new. After dinner, get to know each other intimately with We’re Not Really Strangers, Koreen Odiney’s card game for meaningful conversations. Another great couples game is called 10 Things I Love About you. You both write a list of 10 things you love about your partner. Then show each other the lists and rate each thing on a scale of 1-10.

Fort & Film

It’s fun to be a kid at times. Round up all of the pillows, sheets and blankets in your place and maybe with some fairy lights create a childlike getaway. If you need some inspiration on what films to watch, go check out and support some of the winning films submitted to LunaFest one of the first all-women film festivals.

Dance & V-Jay

When is the last time you were able to let loose and dance? Create your own moonlit club and let loose dancing with your love. Go and create a playlist or steal one of ours “Bliss Love Songs” on Spotify. Then drive out to somewhere secluded in nature with a nice view and dance the night away or get down in the living room with some craft cocktails.  Alternatively, if you’ve got a roku or apple tv take turns sharing your favorite music videos.

Terrarium Time

Get your hands dirty with this one. A lot of the materials can be found in your own backyard. For a simple terrarium you will need to pick up some little succulents, gravel, gardening charcoal, soil, and an open glass container of some kind. You guys can add little fun accessories when you’re all finished planting. Personalize your terrarium with cool rocks or found objects from your own yard. More here.
