Holiday Survival 101

As the holidays approach and the chaos of the season kicks in, we tend to become overwhelmed mentally and emotionally. To better prepare for what’s to come, we’ve compiled a list of our go-to strategies to help you stay balanced.

PRIORITIZE SELF CARE

You don’t have to be selfless and ignore your own needs during the holidays while you are “doing” for everyone else. Make time for yourself and things that bring you joy. It’s okay to Simone Biles that sh*t. Your mental health is first and foremost priority.

COOK A NEW RECIPE

Get creative (and messy!) Cooking can be an incredible way to brighten your holiday season and feed your soul. Be sure to use ingredients that are fresh and in season. For something fun – try these Matcha Butter Cookies with white chocolate drizzle.

SHOP SMALL

Create a budget for spending, make an intentional list  and plan accordingly. Shopping small and with purpose can create a unique gifting experience that will also support your local community. While you’re at it, don’t be afraid to purchase a little something for yourself.

ENVIRONMENT

Deck the Halls. Literally. Gather a few of your favorite people and make an event of it. A classic holiday sweater gathering, festive beverage making or a surprise gifting game can make the time spent together even more memorable.

GROUND YOURSELF

Let’s be honest, the holidays can be a difficult time. Hosting family and friends, navigating those awkward conversations with your least favorite relatives, and the laundry list of social obligations can elevate stress and anxiety levels.Taking time before and after these events to keep yourself grounded is essential for managing your mental health. Here are a few ideas:

  • JOURNAL // Write down three things that you are grateful for.
  • CLEANSE // Decompress with a warm bath or foot soak. For our fellow empaths, water is especially great at cleansing yourself of other people’s energies.
  • MEDITATE  // All day everyday. However, meditating in the morning is a great way to connect to self and set you up for feeling balanced the rest of the day.
  • CBD // Don’t forget your daily dose.  To round it all out and ensure you’re bringing yourself back into balance, we offer a variety of different formulas that will ease the stress and elevate your mood.

As we move through the season together, the collective energy is felt all around us. The more we focus on creating a lovely environment within ourselves and removing attachment to a certain outcome, the smoother the holidays will be.

Bring yourself into the present moment, find gratitude and intention with your actions and words and allow the merriment to unroll.
